Das Modell stellt das Schiff da wie es während der Seeerprobung in der Ostsee aussah bevor es im Mai 1941 Gotenhafen zusammen mit dem Schweren Kreuzer Prinz Eugen zum „Unternehmen Rheinübung“, dem Durchbruch in den Atlantik, verließ.
Das Modell ist 125 cm lang, 18 cm breit und etwa 31 cm hoch, es besteht aus ca. 7180 Steinen.
Die Türme der Hauptartillerie, der Mittelartillerie und die schwere Flak sind voll drehbar und lassen sich in der Höhe richten.
Die beiden 12t Bordkräne sind ebenfalls voll beweglich. Mittschiffs befinden sich die beiden Flugzeugkatapulte, welche zu den Seiten ausgefahren werden können. Der Hangar unter dem Hauptmast hat eine Schiebetür, welche sich öffnen lässt und in dem ein Aufklärungsflugzeug vom Typ Arado Ar 196 untergebracht werden kann. Im Bereich des Schornsteins und auf dem Hangar sind diverse Verkehrsbote, Motorbarkassen und Kutter verstaut.
Das Deck samt Aufbauten kann in zwei Teilen abgenommen werden.

The model shows the ship as it looked during the sea trials in the Baltic Sea before it left Gotenhafen together with the heavy cruiser Prince Eugen in May 1941 for the “Unternehmen Rheinübung”, the breakthrough into the Atlantic.
The model is 125 cm long, 18 cm wide and about 31 cm high, it consists of about 7180 bricks.
The towers of the main artillery, the middle artillery and the heavy anti-aircraft are fully rotatable and can be aligned in height.
The two 12t board cranes are also fully movable. The two aircraft catapults, which can be extended to the sides, are located in the middle of the ship. The hangar under the main mast has a sliding door, which can be opened and in which a reconnaissance aircraft of the type “Arado Ar 196” can be stored. In the area of the funnel and on the hangar are stowed various traffic boats, motor launches and cutters.
The deck and superstructure can be removed in two parts.
